Rotations and Work

Last week my boss flew me in to Idaho to take care of some staff training at work. Since Ashley is still under 2, she can fly for free, so I brought her along and Brandon's Grandma watched her while I was at work. I had a great time spending time with family. I was gone Monday through Friday, that is the longest that Brandon and I have ever been separated since we've been married, so I was feeling really anxious to get back to my hubby by the end of the week.

Can I just say that I absolutely LOVE Idaho in the Spring! The birds are singing, tulips are blooming, trees are budding leaves and all of the fields are green. After spending almost an entire week in Idaho, I was feeling really sorry that I had to go home to nasty, hot, Nevada (aside from the fact that Brandon was there). I honestly don't understand how anyone could not find Idaho beautiful.

While I was out of town, Brandon sat down with the person at Touro in charge of setting up all of his rotations for school to try and get better information about what we can expect for the last year of school. Brandon had set up about 5 months worth of rotations to be done in Idaho, and exciting as that was, we were feeling really concerned about the possibility of having to bounce back and forth between Nevada and Idaho every other month. We really didn't want to be paying for rent at two places. Brandon was hoping to be able to arrange to have all of the Nevada rotations done at the beginning and all of the Idaho rotations at the end so we could just move once and be done with it.

When he asked Touro about it, he was told that it would really be much easier for everyone involved if he would either do all of his rotations in Idaho or all of his rotations in Nevada. We have decided to try and arrange everything in Idaho, so Brandon has been making a lot of phone calls to try and get that set up. I think that he only has a few left to take care of, which is great because he has to have everything turned in by the first of June. If everything goes well, we are going to be moving back to Idaho at the end of October in order to start rotations November 1.

Brandon will still have to travel back to Nevada between every rotation to take a test and pass off each rotation, so we are trying to find different people he could stay overnight with in Nevada while he does that. The rent in Idaho is significally less than in Henderson, so the money that we would be saving on that alone should take care of any travels costs Brandon will have. We are both really excited at the possibility of being back in Idaho so soon and the prospect of renting a house and having a real garden next year.

We've been in Henderson for almost a year now. We have been here for every season, and feel like we have had plenty of opportunity to adjust and for Nevada to "grow" on us. All I have to say that Nevada is just not for us. We are Idaho folk and that's all there is to it.
