Birthday Girl

Ashley is officially 2 today! We had a little birthday party for her. We did a video call with Brandon's family so that they could watch her unwrap the presents they gave her. (Ashley unwrapped her present from Grandpa David and Grandma Vernae in Idaho). Ashley did great until we got to the part where we sang Happy Birthday. She did NOT like the singing and started to cry before we could finish, so we ended the song prematurely. Also, I had spent all day getting her excited about her birthday cake, she watched me bake and decorate it. She was very excited about having a birthday cake and did not want to share. She kept insisting that I give her a fork and let her dig in. She was extremely distraught that she could only have a piece of the cake, not the whole thing, and that Mommy and Daddy got to have some too. I had a pretty good laugh about that, even though she was crying. (What kind of a mother laughs at their crying child, honestly. And the poor girl is stuck with me!) I can't believe that we have had her for 2 years now. Time has gone by quickly. Here are some pictures from today:
